Monday 5/19
Students will continue to read The Giver. We will read Chapters 15-17. We will discuss war and pain in our society compared to what it means to the people in Jonas’ community.
Tuesday 5/20
Today is Field Day! Your day to play several games with your friends and enjoy plenty of fun in the sun!!!
Wednesday 5/21
Students will continue to read The Giver. We will read chapters 18-20 and discuss the possibilities of multiple births in Jonas’ community. How does this play into each family unit? The rule of sameness?
Thursday 5/22
Students will continue to read The Giver. We will read chapters 21-23 along with the audio book and discuss the ending as well as create alternate endings in a group. We will also discuss the importance of precision of speech and how ambiguity causes confusion.
Friday 5/23
Students will complete the chapter review sheets from the book and we will discuss the book.
