Monday 5/12-
Students will complete the list of vocabulary words for the first fifteen minutes of class. We will discuss and read chapters six & seven, complete a review sheet, and a vocabulary sheet. In Jonas’s community children were not given a job choice. The Elders observed the students during their volunteer hours and reviewed their school work to determine which job they were best suited. Luckily, that does not happen in our society. You may make your own decision as to which career you are best suited. We will work on an activity called the career interest game. This interesting little checklist may give you a little insight as to the career you may one day choose. Click here to access the site!
Tuesday 5/13-
Students will turn in all vocabulary words at the end of each class period. I will allow students to complete the vocabulary list from The Giver.
Wednesday 5/14-
Students will read chapter 8 and discuss the ceremony of twelve as a group.
Thursday 5/15-
Students will read chapters 9 and 10 and complete a chapter review sheet over chapters 8-10. Students may read ahead if the chapter review is completed.
Friday 5/16-
Students will read chapters 11-14 along with the audio book.
